The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba is pleased to partner with Haileys Way to support their mission to create and deliver “Safe and supervised leisure activities and educational programs which encourage growth and increases positive self-esteem by allowing a “come as you are” environment where all participants regardless of sex, race, religion, and economic status feel safe and understood.”
And their vision “That Gimli youth have a place of their own within a healthy and supportive community”
Hailey’s Way Inc was created in 2022 and we received our charitable status in December 2022. As a Legacy to my daughter Hailey Dugay. Hailey was killed in an act of violence in November 2018 in Fraserwood, Manitoba. After a night out with friends they came upon men on the side of the road on Kuz’s road who shot at the passing vehicles. Hailey was hit by one of the bullets and killed. At the age of 20 her life was just beginning. As a certified Health Care Aide- she realized early that her love was for children and had gone back to school to complete her Early Childhood Education. Hailey was a selfless, beautiful soul who still had so much to give. The support we received as a family from the Gimli community was amazing and overwhelming. And we wanted to give back.
